Twilight AND Fifty Shades of Grey - WOW

So, I read Twilight what feels like eons ago. I was obsessed. (Seriously — I went to the very first TwiCon with my sister — all the way across the country! LOL) Then, after BD2 came out in the theater and the series started to die down a bit, I stopped rereading them (for the gazillionth time!) and started other books. Then came Fifty Shades. Wow. Addicted. If there was a 50con, I'd probably go. So after reading some new books (I've read 14 this year, woo hoo!) and while waiting for a few releases, I decided to reread Fifty Shades. While reading that, I started Twilight again. And wow, I can totally see Edward as Christian (or vice versa). I knew it had been said that FSOG was originally Twilight fanfic, but I hadn't read Twilight close to FSOG. But now, reading Twilight, I totally see it. TOTALLY see it. The language, the way Edward/Christian hold themselves. The way they speak to Bella/Ana. There may not be the same type of sex/romance as there is in FSOG, but the whole domineering thing is there.

Anyone else see it?

Yes- absolutely, Erin.  Right down to Edward/Christian's smart-aleky brother, Emmett/Elliot, to the spunky, fashionable sister, Alice/Mia.  And, as you said, the parallels between Edward/Bella and Christian/Anna's relationships are very similar.

Yes! I didn't even think about the family, but you're right!

Of course, I've tried reading a copy of Master of the Universe (the fanfiction that was pre-FSOG) and having it using Mr. Cullen and Isabella Swan in place of Christian/Ana is weird. LOL It feels like a knock-off of FSOG rather than the precursor.
