We went and saw this last night.

The story was great, the movie was very interesting and entertaining. My girls LOVED it. Dh and I loved it. Well worth the $40 we forked over for it (cough ouch)

For those with short people, a couple parts were a little scary so it's something to be aware of. My kids weren't scared but I could see a couple parts being scary to some kids.

Thanks for the review. I'm hoping to sneak out to see it this week. I'd have to drive 1/2 an hour to a theater with a matinee, but it might be worth it, to see it in a theater.

It's not a remake of the original, it's a sequel. That's why the story is different. :o)

That's what I understood it to be, too. Alice goes back to Wonderland to help the Mad Hatter.

Oh I see, I didn't know it was a sequel.

I loved it too! I thought it was a really interesting take on the story, and it looked beautiful. The acting was awesome - Helena was hilarious and Depp was kooky as per usual. The overall message was very good for girls, too, I thought :)

Thanks for the review. I'm still trying to find a day free enough to drive the 25 miles to the only theater that shows matinees during the school year to see this (my dh refuses to go). Don't get me started on how dumb it is that we don't have one in the area that does, lol!

Wow! That's crazy....did you ever get to see it?? It's still in the top ten at the box office - crazy how well it's doing. Can't wait to get the DVD too when it comes out!
