Is Anyone Renting A Movie This Weekend?

The $1.50 theater is showing 13 Going On Thirty and it just looks too "cutesy" for me (it's probably good though) plus it is still raining so I will probably finish up Band of Brothers tonight with my hubby if he can sit still long enough to watch it! Then I would love to rent a good thriller. I bought The Rainmaker on video for .50 at a sale cause I never saw it before so maybe that is what I'll end up watching.

Hope you all have a nice weekend and tell me if you see something good!

I am! I rented Gladiator and Master and Commander. I'll probably watch M & C tonight, 'cause it's due tomorrow, and maybe the other one too, if I'm not too tired.

I wanted to rent "Phantoms" and Lady in White, but couldn't find either one. Maybe I just wasn't looking in the right place (but I think I looked at every area, both in dvds and vhs). Oh well, maybe next time.

I saw 13 going on 30 and it really was pretty good! Not terribly cutesy. I'd say it's worth a dollar fifty to see it.

If you're looking for a thriller, I recommend "What Lies Beneath" with Harrison Ford. VERY scary, suspenseful and definitely thrilling! In my opinion, anyway.

I'll let you know how I like these movies I got.

I haven't seen either one of those Russel Crowe pictures but I think I'll stay away from Gladiator now! I seem to remember my boys liking that one. Thanks for the recommendation for What Lies Beneath. I have already seen it though and did like it.

Well my dd and I ended up watching Holes yet again. We had both read the book and it is really good. Have you seen it? Henry Winkler plays an adorable part. Sigourney Weaver is so funny in it. It is such a well done story of a boy sent to juvenile camp where they have to dig holes out in the dessert all day for "discipline". There are a lot of flashbacks and 2 different stories going on but in the end they all come together. There are a lot of good actors in it, including the boys but I can't think of any more names right now.

This week I will not have a second to myself I don't think. DS is graduating from HS next Sunday and my in-laws from out of town will be here Thurs for 4 days. I have so much to do and the stress is building! But next week I will reward myself by relaxing with some good movies, maybe even right in the middle of the day!

Yes, I did see Holes, and I thought it was really cute, too. I never read the book, though. Is the book better than the movie?
