I'm trying something, based on the good discussions we had about Johnny Depp - Actor (or Actress) Of The Week.

Every week (or every week I think of it, lol) I'll put a name up and we can dish about the person, his/her movies and tv roles, whatever.

And if you have someone you want to talk about next week, or in weeks to come, and I (or anyone else) haven't posted an AOTW yet, go ahead and post your own AOTW.

This week I choose Will Smith. What are your thoughts? Like him? Hate him? What movies of his have you seen, and what are your thoughts on them? Do you have a favorite movie or character?

Personally, I like Will Smith. I wasn't all that big a fan of his in his "Fresh Prince" days, but he seems to have grown and matured with every movie I've seen.

I've seen ID4, the Bad Boys movies, The MIB movies, I, Robot and Wild Wild West (and maybe others, but I can't remember more) and I think my favorite might be I, Robot. It was basically a serious role, but he gave it some humor, too, and I like that. (and the frosted glass nude shot was kinda nice, too, LOL!)

I LOVE Will Smith,I have since he started out rapping, I have seen a lot of his movies. I didn't see I Robot or Ali, but I would like to at some point. I think his acting is getting more diverce and plays more serious charters well, like in Bagger Vance. Also I think he is a stand up guy in real life. I like seeing people that make it and don't just buy into all the bad things fame can bring.

On a side note, did you know that he turned down the Matrix to be Wild Wild West. I always like hearing what roles actors turned down. I know sometimes you think what was that person thinking to turn down that film, but who know if the film would have been as big as it was with the first choice actor. Ok I am done rambling now.

I didn't know that! Do you know what character it would have been? I like hearing of roles actors turned down, too. And who got the part they turned down.

I like Will Smith. On a personal level I like the fact that he speaks out against Rap music of today not being what he intended when he made it popular years ago. Infact I believe that is why he no longer does it(except for the occasional movie). The movies I like best are Ali and the MIB. He also seems very devoted to his wife and kids...He made the comment once about "If Mommy ain't happy, then nobody's happy", I thought, smart guy.

I like him too and think he is a great actor. My favorite WS roles are MIB 1 and Indep. Day. He is in great shape, funny, and a great actor but I don't consider him one of my "heartthrobs" for some reason. I think of him as a really neat younger brother!
