I believe this movie officially starts off the holiday movie season (it opens Nov 6th). It's one of my favorite Christmas movies ever so naturally I'm going to want to see it. There's been a train tour going around the US as part of its big promotion - anybody go see it yet?

thank you! :)

I hadn't heard of a musical version starring Kelsey Grammar - I will have to see that! Can't believe I missed that one, since I love musicals!

The train tour is really cool, so if it comes to your area, you should most definitely check it out. It's on the tailend of it now, since the last stop coincides with the movie's premiere next month, but here's the map:

November 6th sounds so early for Christmas movies. I would have guessed they would be closer to Thanksgiving weekend. However, they probably have this one figured out.

I'm definitely seeing this one! Love the story.

Yes, I have a feeling Disney does have it all figured out! Apparently, they are also coinciding the movie's premiere in London with the Christmas Lights switch-on and the lights on Regent St will have a theme. Kinda cool, I think.

And agreed that Jim Carrey will be a great Scrooge - his physicality seems to fit this version well.

I've read that Jim Carrey also plays the parts of all the ghosts, too.

Yeah, he's got like 7 roles in the movie! And Gary Oldman (he is another one of my favorites and a totally underrated actor IMO) plays 3 characters.

There's a video of Jim Carrey talking about playing all those characters - have to say, looks amazing!

You're welcome! :)

I know, I'm already excited for the holiday movie season...that's usually when all the best movies come out, and this will definitely be a good to start to it.

Too bad it's being released so early in November. I would have liked to take the family to see this over the Christmas holidays. But by then it'll be so old - like 8 weeks.

Maybe many families will save this for Christmas break anyway.

The other thing that really bugs me is Jim Carrey will be playing about 7 roles in the movie (all the ghosts plus Scrooge, etc.). I always feel that there are so many good actors trying to get even a small role in films that it's a shame to have one actor hoard so many in one. It's a gimmick to show how good their FX is but I'd like to see others get a chance.
