What are some of your favorite Halloween time movies? I'm looking for both family and grown-up ones. Nothing too scary. (I'm not a horror movie fan.)

You can't go wrong with It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! I also like the Scooby Doo ones, Addams Family, Monsters, Inc., Casper, Monster House.

I saw one on tv last week and I liked aspects of it a lot. It was Fright Night from 2011, or something. Colin Farrell plays a suburban vampire who buys a house next door to a teenager. The teenager enlists David Tennant's help, who plays a Las Vegas magician who is also a vampire expert. It's fun, but may not be for you.

Obscure one: The Golem from ~1922. The Golem story predates Frankenstein as a novella.

Have you seen ~1932's Frankenstein?

The very old ones are probably available on the Internet.

Oh, the new Fright Night was good! Campy, but good! I didn't think I'd like it, but I did.

I'm going to check out the other ones as well. Thanks for sharing!!

Hi Olivia,

Some great suggestions here. Some of my favorites:

Disney's The Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad
The Disney Channel Original Movies: Halloweentown (series), Twitches (1 & 2)
Casper
The Scream Team
American Werewolf in London (the "remake" "sequel" - American Werewolf in Paris is 'ok')
Hocus Pocus (of course!)
The Witches (after all these years it still scares the daylights out of me, lol!)
Tower of Terror
The Monster Squad
Monster House
Beetlejuice
Young Frankenstein
Sleepy Hollow (Johnny Depp)
Poltergeist (the sequels are too scary for me, lol!)
Arachnophobia

I'd say Gremlins, but around here, that's a Christmas movie, lol!
