Did anyone watch any movies over the weekend? New in a theater, rented, older ones on tv or made for tv movies? What did you see and how did you like it?

I saw The Stepford Wives with my dd (lumia1977). I liked it, in a fun, afternoon at the movie kind of way. It was funny and had a few quirks the book and first movie didn't (more technology, less murder). If you're looking for a fun movie that won't make you have to think (which is nice now and then, lol!) I recommend this movie.

It sounds like the new Stepford Wives may be more of a tongue-in-cheek comedy? Christopher Walken was the actor I was trying to think of. I think he is in the new one. I like him.

I rented Radio which I really liked. And Out of Time. I liked it too. It seemed like kind of a different role for Denzel Washington. It was a pretty good thriller. I was tense almost the whole movie!

Yes, Christopher Walken was in this S W. And yes, it was less serious than the first one was. I think it ended differently, too, but I can't for the life of me find my book of it to see if I'm right!

I still haven't seen Radio and still want to. I'll have to put it at the top of my TBS (to be seen) list. And Out of Time was good (if it's the one I'm thinking of, with Dakota Fanning?). Very suspenseful!

No, wait! I'm thinking of Man on Fire with D. Fanning. Also a good movie, LOL.

We were on vacation on a island in Florida. We did manage to rent some movies. I let my 16y/o son and nephew pick the movies. We saw "50 First Dates", it was cute but kind of hard to believe. They did rent others but I didn't watch them, not my taste.

Welcome back! I missed you! An island in Florida sounds heavenly! I can only imagine the kind of movies 16 yo boys would choose, lol! I'm glad you had fun, even if the movies weren't all to your liking!

Thanks Wordy!!!...There was only 1 movie rental place on the island so the choices were slim. I know they picked a Paris Hilton video, when I heard that I had to ask WHICH PARIS HILTON VIDEO???? I didn't even know she made legit movies....LOL
