Did you see any movies over the weekend?

I did, but not in a theater. I saw "The Bounty", a 1984 movie with a young Mel Gibson as Fletcher Christian. Mmmmm! And the story wasn't bad, either, LOL! And dh and I watched one of my favorites and a recent DVD purchase; "Pirates of the Carribean". I loved it again, but dh didn't seem as enthused. ~Sigh~ he's just not a movie-watching kind of guy. But he couldn't have thought it was too bad, because he did sit through the whole thing, and he chuckled a couple of times, LOL!

Did you see anything? What did you think of it/them?

Sorry to correct you but I think that was Colin Farrell not Colin Firth. I haven't seen the movie but I am having a hard time picturing Colin Firth as a cop...LOL

I rented Japanese Story. It was okay but not sad or as dramatic as I thought it would be.

We rented Welcome To Mooseport and The Last Samurai.

I thought I would enjoy the first and maybe not even watch the second but it was the other way around.

My dd and I were both disappointed with Welcome to Mooseport. It just wasn't as funny as we thought it would be and Ray Romano should maybe stick to his series. Gene Hackman was good in it and looked good too considering his age (?) he looked pretty studley but why he did this movie I don't know.

I really liked The Last Samurai with Tom Cruise. It is a Japanese "Braveheart" complete with the violence but I like seeing how simply the Japanese live and thought it had a good story, great scenery and was touching too.

I also watched a very strange video my 18 yr old has, Donnie Darko....very strange, yet I couldn't stop watching. Has anyone seen this story of a disturbed teenager? Drew Barrymore is in it and I forgot the lead character's name. If you ever start a thread of bad movies I may suggest this one.
