Happy July Fourth everyone!

I know, it isn't the fourth yet, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy weekend now, because I may be a bit scarce till Sunday or Monday. My dd and her dh, as well as a BIL and SIL will be here this weekend, arriving today, so I've got to freshen up the guest rooms and do a quick "spiffing up" run through the house today, as well as get groceries for the weekend, and will be busy with the crowd after that.

So, have a good weekend, everyone, even if you don't celebrate Independence Day on the fourth, and I'll pop in when I can and "see" you for sure on Monday.

Oak Creek??? I had no idea you were so close to me! I'm just an hour or so north of you, in West Bend!

Hey neighbor!! (close enough)

All I remember of West Bend is the Amity leather outlet, and West Bend aluminum, but I suspect they're both gone by now. I still have pots and pans from West Bend. :)

I was born and raised in Milwaukee, and noticed your bio stated that you're from SE Wisconsin.

Yep, Amity and the WB Company are both pretty much gone. Regal took over West Bend Co. last year or so.

And my bio says South Eastern WI, because that's where I am now, but I wasn't born here. I was born in St. Paul, MN, and my family moved to Northern WI when I was about 14 and I lived there till I was married at 19 (seems I lived there much longer, though, LOL!). We lived in Merrill (near Wausau). None of my family live up there now, My Dad died several years ago, my Mom and sister are in Alabama and my brother is in McFarland, but dh still has all 5 of his brothers and their families up there, so we still get up there now and then.
