I just found this board and would love to join you. I love talking about movies (my DH doesn't like to go or talk about them!)

I have so many favorites and I guess my preference is for thrillers but I love a good true life story too. My least favorite are teenage comedies and romantic comedies. I'm just really tired of romantic comedies right now. I'm looking forward to seeing Godsend although I usually wait until the movies hit the $1.75 theater we have nearby.

My favorite recent rentals have been The Pianist and The End of The Affair with Julianne Moore and Ralph Fiennes, a somewhat older movie that I thought was really good, Ralph Fiennes being a great actor (warning, there is some nudity in it, not a family movie!)

These two movies may be my new all time favorites!

I also love watching family movies with my daughter, Finding Nemo being a favorite and anything to do with dogs. My 18 yr old son loves watching The Godfather over and over. I've rambled enough!

Happy watching!

I "officially" welcomed you above (or maybe below by now), but one cannot be welcomed too much, so Welcome again!

Feel free to ramble all you want, and to contribute to anything you want. I'm known for going off on tangents in the boards, lol.

I see we have a lot in common. My dh doesn't care for movies, either, so I have to go alone, or with my daughter, who sometimes pops in here (lumia1977). Also, I loved Finding Nemo and dislike "teen" movies. Romantic comedies are ok, but give me a suspenseful, twisted tale like What Lies Beneath or Signs, or a fantasy like LOTR and Star Wars, and I'm there!

But I also love old movies. Almost anything by Hitchcock is a favorite and Gone With the Wind is a staple on my "Most Loved" list.

Okay . . . I like ANY movie, LOL!

Thanks for the welcome! I should have written this all in one post today but... oh well. :) I like Hitchcock too. And The Sound of Music is a favorite oldie but would you believe I have never seen the whole Gone With The Wind? Just bits and pieces over the years.

I love slightly scary Hitchcock type movies. Did you like Signs and Sixth Sense? They had Unbreakable(wasn't crazy about that one) on tv the other night and they are all written by that M. Night Shamaylon and he showed a preview of his new movie coming out this summer called The Village. It looks so good! Looks like it is set in Puritan times and has lots of big name stars in it. Kinda that slow creepy kind of suspense. I also want to see The Stepford Wives coming out soon.

Yes, I did like Signs and The Sixth Sense. And The Village does look good! I'm sure I'll be going to that one!
