Hi! I'm new to this board! I"m Amanda and my DH and I used to go to the movies every week. then we had DD who is now 2 and i think the last movie we saw in the theatre is.....harry potter 3. pretty sad huh? but i still love the movies and we still try to go when we can get a sitter that is.

has anyone played the DVD game Scene It? in not BUY IT!!!! it's the best movie game EVER!!! there's even a second disc with more questions on it. it's a great party game or just to play with two people it's fun.

ok i hope to get to know everyone better and to chat about movies.

Hi Amanda, welcome to the board! I hope Hurricane Charley missed you!

You don't have to be ashamed of not seeing many movies. I know how it is with young kids around. Life often gets in the way of things, but it's a worthwhile trade-off, I think. But any movies in any format count here! Even an old one or a made for tv movie. It doesn't have to be a first-run one in a theater.

Feel free to jump in anywhere and ask or answer anything, even go digging in the archives if you want and revive an older conversation or game!

I've heard of Scene It, but never played it. It does sound like fun, though.

I've read Odd Thomas, but not The Awakening. I'm eager to get it and read it, though. So many books, so little time, lol!

Welcome rockermom! I love movies too. My kids (21, 18, 12) all love them too but my DH rarely watches or likes movies. He did like The Village and I'm sure he'll like Spiderman 2 but we are waiting until it comes to our $1.50 theater to take him!

I rent movies from the library too. Yesterday I got Rope, an old Alfred Hitchcock movie with James Stewart, one of my favorite actors. It was old and slow but I watched it twice looking for AH's cameo but never did see it. The whole thing was set in an apt so I thought maybe he would be on the wall in a picture or something but I couldn't find it. So maybe he doesn't have a cameo in every film?
