Chloƫ Grace Moretz plays Carrie, the role first made popular by Sissy Spacek in 1976. The remake stars Julianne Moore in the role of the overly religious and isolated mother, Margaret, first played by classic film star Piper Laurie. And this time there is a tighter focus on the dysfunctional relationship between mother and daughter, according to director Kimberly Pierce.
I remember seeing this back in 1976; it's going to be interesting to see Moretz's take on Carrie, since I thought Sissy Spacek was superb in that role. Anyone planning on seeing it?
I've only seen bits and pieces of the movie and haven't read the book. He tends to be a little too graphic for my taste. I started reading The Dome last year (or the year before) and had to stop almost immediately. :/
Carrie was my first introduction to Stephen King.... loved the movie and the book! LOL
