Just wanted to start something similar to our three word game that we had going so we could stay caught up with everyone.  I miss that!

I'm praising myself for voting today.  Dad would have had a hay day with the elections this year.  And since his b'day was yesterday, not only did I vote for me but in memory of him!

Thanks for starting this, Chris! I haven't voted yet - I'll do that about noon time then back home to do more laundry.  Yesterday I had the gardener come by to fix the kitchen faucet and it's finally FIXED! I'm so happy  since dh was having trouble with it (and he's leaving town tomorrow) and we had the cold water turned off ;-( Now everything is back to normal LOL

Hi Chris!! It does feel good to vote; dh and I went this morning. I've never understood why so many people choose not to exercise that right. I think it's great that you thought of your dad when you cast your choice; I remember my FIL passed right before the 2004 election. We got home from the funeral half an hour before the polls closed and even as tired as we were, we made it. I told dh his dad would have had a hissy fit if we didn't vote!

Yay on getting that faucet fixed, Terre!

Just curious... when your dh is out of town, do you cook for yourself or just grab some take-out? It's been so long since I've had the house to myself, I'd probably have my own little pizza party! Then at least I could order extra mushrooms! LOL

Hi Brenda! No, on the takeout. Too far and pizza places will not deliver. We live about 35 miles from the closest eating establishments. Generally, I eat left overs or tv dinners like Marie Callender. They make the best tv dinners or I just make a salad for supper. But mostly it's leftovers. We cook alot on the weekends and have plenty left over. And no I don't cook when he's gone. Not if it's just me.

Yay on the faucet!!!!  Can I borrow your gardener?  I have alot of fix its at our old house that need to be done.  Looks like me weekend will be jam packed with finishing moving.  The house officially goes up for sale this week.  I guess I needed the motivation, but now it's all just so final.  Kind of feeling indifferent about it.

If I hadn't voted Brenda, my dad would have come down here and shook the life out of me!!!  He was such a political person and everyone knew his views loud and clear.  When Obama ran the first time, I was walking in as he was walking out (and not to step on any toes) but he loudly yells with his arms in the air "I voted straight white"!  LOL!  Replublican or Democrat, the whole place was cracking up.  That's my dad!

Yeah, I can't get delivery out where I live either. But it's only a 10 mile drive and I do love my mushrooms, so I just go get my own! LOL And I'm a fan of Marie Callender tv dinners, too; they are actually the only ones I like. I don't eat them often, but it's always nice to have a couple on hand.

I do the bulk of my cooking over the weekends; in fact, my family just asked me if we could cook chili Saturday. It's getting that kind of weather; chili, gumbo and soup time!

LOL...your dad sounds a lot like my FIL; he was the biggest contributor to "Letters to the Editor" in his hometown newspaper -- and his yard was always covered in political signs. He and I didn't always see eye to eye with our choices, but he was probably the only person I could really talk politics with comfortably and I like to think that both of us learned things from one another. He was staunch in his views but was willing to listen to an opposing viewpoint, and loved a good, rousing debate.
