Soaps.com has learned from Jess Walton's (Jill Abbott) representative that she has decided to take a six-month leave of absence from "The Young and the Restless." Jess's last day on set will be tomorrow, Tuesday April 3, and she will return to work in six months time. Jess elected to take the leave of absence because her son and his wife are having a baby.

Updated April 3:

Jess posted a message to her fans on her Facebook page with regard to her time off: "Hey Everybody! I don't know how many of you have heard, but tomorrow (Tuesday) is my last day of taping for about 6 months! I am very excited to have the time off, as I have been working on Daytime TV for about 29 years straight! I wanted to be there for my son Cole and his lovely Ashley, for the birth of their son, and the precious time that follows. Also, my husband John and I want to put our new home in order for the country life we have planned up in Oregon. Maria Bell was very understanding of all this, and kindly gave me the time I need!"
