I rarely watch this show but tonight's episode practically mirrors that nightclub fire in Rhode Island - I mean down to the footage of the front door!!!!!

Personally I think this is irresponsible and way too soon to try to sensationalize on such a tragedy? Are we all that hardened to current events that they all become plots on dramas within a year?

Yeck!

I was just coming on here to post how upset I was. Here was what I had ready to post:

I had heard about the fire episode. WPRI Channel 10 in Providence was not going to air it. It had too many similarities to the Great White concert fire. My problem was, I did not know what date they were planning on showing it. So, last night, I am sitting there, ready to enjoy my Monday night TV...and the show starts out with two of the CSI team out at a dance club, the DJ sets off some pyrotechnics, and the curtain behind the stage goes up...one exit is locked, and everyone was trying to get out one door ( sound familiar?) I don't know why I kept watching, finally one of the CSI guys found an exit behind the stage, and people were coming out...I just remember thinking, MY GOD!!! This must be what it was like for all those people, the panic, the smoke, the screams. I was shook up. I know someone who's son was killed in that fire. And, over the weekend, another fire victim died. She never woke up. So, her family had to endure two months of visiting her in the hospital, only to end up planning her funeral anyway. After the first scene, I couldn't watch. I shut the tv off, and I ended up vaccumming just to try to get rid of the shakes. I was vaccumming through tears. I don't think Boston should of aired that episode either. That fire hit way too close to home here for comfort. Warwick RI is only 45 minutes away. So many people from this area died.

I am just so mad that CSI felt they should do a show on this. I am sure they filmed it after the fire, so the Warwick fire is what gave them the idea for the show. DISGUSTING. I am glad Channel 10 in Providence had the compassion to NOT air it, I just wish Boston's channel 4 had the same. I am sure they are going to be criticisized, I don't think anyone expected it to be so graphic.

the episode was shot before the fire in RI, it was originally sched to be shown earlier in the season, but because of the fire they chose to wait...personally I think it is good that they showed it...it keeps the issue of nightclub safety in the forefront of the public minds and may help to get laws etc passed to make nightclubs safer.

Wow I am so glad I didn't watch CSI last night. I agree with the other posts that a show depicting what the RI fire was like should have not been shown so soon. I don't care if it was filmed before the RI fire supposedly, like the previous post said. I am in NC but I am originally from Mass. I have too lost a fellow high school classmate in the fire, and one who thank God is recovering from his physical injuries. Last night on the news they mentioned another person succumbed to their injuries and showed the video again. It makes my heart sink whenever I see the video b/c I can see my classmate on it. I wish they would not show the video especially where we all know the outcome of many of those people. I have to say there are other ways to show club saftey without making money on the RI fire tragedy.

I don't think it is irresponsible. The show was filmed way before the night club fire. They aren't making money off of the tradgedy of the fire. If the fire wouldn't have aired they would have shown it sooner. But out of respect for the families of the fire they choose to wait. CSI had no idea this would happen and it shows like these do bring things to the fore front and make you want to do things differently. I haven't seen this episode yet (I taped it and have yet to view it) but knew what it is about cuz I saw the story on ET.
