Don't hate me or throw tomatoes at me, but I wasn't overly impressed with the 3rd episode. It lacked the drama and intensity of the other two. Everyone knew that Meredith would survive. I normally don't mind when the show goes off the "norm" a little, but having her wake up and not have ANY problems after being "dead" for more than an hour? Not right. They should have had SOMETHING wrong with her. I mean, she talked to Derek like she was just waking up from a normal nap. No lingering after effects. Anyway, I was a little disappointed. I'm not surprised that Ellis died. I think we've been heading that way for awhile to be honest. And she hasn't really played that big of a role lately (sure, we had the whole Luicd day, but...). On top of that, I felt like they had kind of outplayed her character. What else could they do with her?

So, she is gone.

Well, that's what usually puts me off. There is no way after being coded for 2 hours after drowning that she would just wake up and be a bit groggy. Getting her heartbeat back would only be half the problem (ok taking off my nurse's cap now). I didn't mind the "near death experience" she was having. I actually found that to be more believable! Certainly more entertaining than just heading towards the light! Anyway, I will still continue to watch.

MOST of the time, I don't pay much attention to small discrepencies (sp?) that they make when it comes to medical side of this show. Most of the time, I just brush it off knowing it's done that way to make the show more interesting. However, this time.. I have a problem with it. She's down for that long and NOTHING is wrong? I wouldn't even have such a problem if they wouldn't have kept mentioning "She's been down an hour" or whatever. If they would have led us to believe that the events happened in a short amount of time, I'd be better of with it.

I was just bothered by how they handled the whole thing. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the dream/death sequence (though it took me awhile to figure out that the bomb squad guy was Coach Taylor from Friday Night Lights! LOL) but I didn't like the way they handled her coming back to life.
