Maybe it was the editing but Rob made some smart moves. He thought to ask the security guard if the earliest bus had a lot of stops and found out the 7:00 bus only had one stop. Then he gave the guy money not to talk about it! Of course that kind of backfired but it was an interesting strategy. Loved when he and Bianca had words about his being a liar (didn't she lie to the POW guy last week?) and Rob turned to the camera and winked. Later, he got three other teams to kick-in bribe money for the bus driver to only open the front door of the bus. He was also the only one shown saying that choosing shopping on the detour would cost the team money. He and Amber seem to work together really well.
I wished I had taped the episode 'cause I'd like to see how Rob was the only one able to stack all 180 books in one trip. Can you tell this is my favorite team?

Lynn and Alex are lucky the fishmongers didn't hit them over the head with the fish! Not too smart to accuse the locals of cheating when you're outnumbered. It didn't occur to me that the scale was rigged, just probably not finetuned!

Glad to see the ex-POW/Beauty Queen and Deanna/Ray come in at the top.

Mom/Son didn't irritate me as much this week. Mainly because he wasn't whining about Amber/Rob and being a snot about everything.

Missed the guys from S.C.

Loved the show last night! I hate how the editing always makes it look like the last two teams are racing when they are nowhere near each other, it was much better yesterday knowing they were actually close together.

I love Rob, have I said that before? Because I really do! I think most people have to really like him or really hate him, there don't seem to be many in the middle. When Rob said he worked in construction, so he knew how to stack things to make the most strength from them, my DH rolled his eyes and made some comment. Then he had to say later, "I guess he really did know how to stack those books right." When they showed Rob saying that, I just knew it was foreshadowing and they'd dump all of their books, LOL. I was glad they came in first, they really dominated the entire leg of the race. He was very smart to pay people off, he was even able to manipulate those other 3 teams into paying the bus driver for him and he didn't pitch in, that cracks me up!! And like I said last week, I would abhor that in any other team, hehehe.

As for the other teams, I can't remember too much about them. The POW/Beauty Queen team get on my nerves, too. I'm not really sure why, but they do. It seemed to me last week that Ron pulled that one guy aside to be sure and tell him he is a former POW so that he would tell everyone else and it wouldn't seem like he was bragging or something. Not that I don't appreciate the guy and his sacrifice completely, but either be proud of your service and what happened to you, or stop talking about it. Don't mention it to one person, seemingly hoping they will tell everyone else about it. And she just bugs me. Debbie and Bianca annoy me, Meredith and his wife are just boring, I'm really glad those blond girls are gone, the brothers are iffy for me, the Mom and Son team I like her but he annoys me... that's about it so far, LOL! I like when they get down a few teams so they are easier to keep up with.

At any rate, Boston Rob and Amber are making me love this season, so again I hope they stick around for a long time!

Is it okay to bargain with a vendor? Last night's show had one team trying to bargain with the fish seller but he wouldn't go down on his price. Was it because they were tourists?

Don't forget that he got the other teams to pitch in to bribe the bus driver to open only the front doors *and then he didn't pitch in himself* BWahahahahahah!!! The guy is killing me.

In the beginning I REALLY didn't think Amber and Rob would have any advantage over the others just because of their experience on Survivor.

I love having Boston Rob on this show! He was cracking me up last night with all of the stuff he was pulling. The bus doors had to be the best though! I can't wait until next week when he steals the cab from another team "for calling him a liar". He's definitely making the show more interesting, IMO.

DH said "He's kind of an a**hole isn't he?" I told him the people that hate him think that, but if you like him then you gotta love what he's doing! He's definitely NOT stupid.

Why in the world could NOBODY else stack all 180 books at once? I thought it was so stupid for the POW guy to make 2 trips... but then everybody else did it too (except for Rob and Amber).

It was so funny when the gay guys called the fish vendors "B*tches". They are lucky they didn't get beat with the fish!

I'm happy the bimbo girls went home. The mother/son and older couple are boring to me as well.

First of all, I'm wondering why everyone was so against the mother/son team. There were many posts that said he kept saying he's gay. As far as I remember, he only said it twice. Once when he introduced himself and once when one of the girls told him he reminded her of her ex-boyfriend. I think both of those times were appropriate.

If someone's going to be annoyed at someone flaunting their gayness, let's take a look at Lynn and Alex. You'd have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to know they're gay. And I think they're proud of that fact. And they made some joking references to homosexuality a couple of times. Being gay is obviously a huge part of their lives. And they want everyone to know it.

I can't stand Amber and Rob. He thinks he's so friggin' smart. He's so cocky and full of himself. I don't think that belongs in this show. Sure, in Survivor you have to lie, cheat, and be conniving. But I don't think it should be a big part of AR. One of the things I love about AR is that there's so much up to chance and personal and mental strength. It's not about being underhanded.

I'm not against the mother-son team!

I don't think he comes across as being very mature for his age. If you are truly comfortable being gay, you don't say Hi my name is Patrick and I'm gay. The conversation with the girls was indicative of this: "You remind me of an old boyfriend" "Did he turn out to be gay?" IMHO that was not exactly appropriate. He was not the slightest bit interested in the old boyfriend, only in returning the focus of the conversation back to himself. He does that a LOT.

When they reached the pit stop and Phil told them they were still in...they did the usual happy dance, then he turns to Phil and says something like "It will be that dramatic EVERY time" It was a strange comment...their happy dance was not more exuberant than everyone elses and I'm not sure if he was apologizing for his mom or himself or what?

I think Rob and Amber were able to carry all 180 books in one trip because they were the first ones to the store and were able to have first pick as to which books they carried. So Rob says to pick the smallest books, very smart IMHO, then it did seem that he knew how to stack stuff like that. That is the only thing I can come up with as to why they could make one trip when all the other teams had to take more than one trip. Did you notice that the brothers took two trips and the dolly was FULL each time and I think that one was carrying some books atleast one of the times? I think it had to do with the fact that their books were so much bigger than Rob and Ambers.

Just my 2 cents, I love this show and this board too!

Yeah...I agree....it was a huge advantage to get there first and be able to get the thin books.
