I don't feel like any of the remaining cast members are any different from current Glee characters.

I have been watching...and I agree; they don't seem to be much diffierent from the current characters. But then, we're seeing them as themselves in a challenging enviroment. My guess is that it will all come down to the character development process... who they think can actually be developed into a different type of character than the cast has now.
