I was not bothered by how they were portrayed. It is easier for the viewers to remember teams if they associate them with something. For some teams it is their sexuality and for others it is their occupation. The show probably wants a little controversy because it grabs more viewers.

Totally agree but seems as if that is just how TV is going these days. Can't wait!
