Jennifer Hudson may never fully fathom the horrific murders of her mother, brother and nephew at the hands of her estranged brother-in-law, but the Oscar winner reveals that she is now slowly moving toward a place of emotional closure.

During an interview Sunday night with Oprah Winfrey, the 30-year-old said that she forgives William Balfour for the 2008 shooting deaths of her mother, Darnell Donerson, brother Jason Hudson, and 7-year-old nephew, Julian King. http://www.eonline.com/news/344828/jennifer-hudson-forgives-brother-in-law-for-murdering-her-mother-brother-and-nephew-it-s-not-his-fault

I'm glad she's found her peace with this; having a loved on taken from your life by someone else's senseless act is beyond devastating. My own brother was murdered over 26 years ago and honestly, I don't think I will ever find the ability to forgive his killer. I no longer harbor the hatred, but I just can't forgive...

I admire her strength -- and the video of her interview with Oprah where she explains Julian's Hatch Day celebration... that's a wonderful memorial to her little nephew.

I am glad that you were able to let go of the hatred you felt. {{Hugs}} That can be a poison that just eats away at the rest of your life and that person already took enough from you. Forgiveness... well, I'm not sure I could manage that, either.

I do see where their focus on Hatch Day is a positive move in their healing process; I'm glad they've found that peace.

I don't know how she can forgive a monster. She's obviously made of different material than I am. I'm trying to figure out forgiving such a thing helps.
