Any thoughts on this one?

I only saw Wednesday's episode because, apparently, Thursdays are a hot night for my DVR and I didn't care enough to bump one of my other recordings.

What's the difference between this and American Idol?

From what I can tell, they take groups or single contestants. The age restrictions are way more relaxed. I think the min. age is 12. They had a couple perform where the woman was 80-something and her husband was 70. And I think the premise is a bit different. It's supposed to not just be a singing competition, but a "total package" thing. I really liked LA Reid. It was nice to see Paula and Simon together again, too. But it felt kind of, I don't know...forced? I know that Leona Lewis won on the X-Factor in the UK (was it the first season of it, too?). I definitely like the judges panel better on X-Factor.

Maybe "overproduced" is the word I'm looking for?

I don't see why people like these shows....I was a big fan of star Search in the 80's and I kina' liked the first couple of seasons of American Idol, but I don't dig these new shows....
