Basic Biscuits

2 cups all purpose flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp cold butter or shortening or combination of both
1 cup cold buttermilk

Toss flour, baking powder, soda, and salt together.

Normally I get store brand too, but I think King Arthur feels bad for me bc somehow I keep getting coupons for thiers! And they double up to a dollar off!

We have Gold Medal here too, but I've never heard of King Arthur or Sunflower. I buy store brand, which is probaly the same as any name brand.

I really didnt know there was a difference like that. Up here we have the Kroger brand, Gold Medal brand and King Arthur. In our area, I havent seen the 2 you mentioned...like you said. Guess we are too far north, lol.

That was so interesting about the flour! I had no idea that they were different. That is crazy! Im assuming that for most recipes, it doesnt matter a whole lot. But I see what they were going for in this one.
That seemed like a very simple recipe also. Now I want biscuts...again.

My mom would just chop the meat into small cubes. I do have a food procssor though. I'm shopping for the month this Saturday, so I'm going to look for some roast on sale!!
