I am embarassed to ask this question but I have to.

Firstly, I like to make rice porridge or soups using chicken drumsticks.

Try blanching them first.

I roast my chicken legs at 400 degrees for an hour, delicious!
To reuse in soups/casseroles, I usually cook whole chicken or parts in the crockpot overnight. It comes clean off the bone in the a.m. after cooling, and the gross parts get tossed. Good luck!
