For the most part soy beans were kind of a joke here in corn country....and to think you would be eating them instead of making stuff from them was unheard of..suprising how things change isn't it?
We *love* edamame and keep some in the freezer for a quick, nutritious snack. Last weekend we went to a new Asian Fusion restaurant in town and had the best edamame ever. They must have done a quick saute in garlic and soy sauce and added some red chili flakes. It was amazing.
What they serve in McDonald's is regional.....they serve rice and spam in McDonald's in Hawaii. I was SO SHOCKED when DH ordered a rice and spam plate when we were there in 2006.
I can eat spam...with fried eggs, once in a while. And I can eat it chopped in an omelette but other than that, no. With plain white rice, nope!!! Madison, my youngest loves rice like her daddy. COLD with just shoyu. YUCK.

I have never tried it, but have heard great things about edamame from people whose food reviews I trust.
I have heard so much about it lately, but have never tried it.

Even McDonald's is serving edamame now.
Does the McDonalds HERE serve it?? That's weird.
Edamame is on the Asian salad.
