My mission now is to totally empty my freezer before I buy more to put into it.

Never!! I try, but I can't pass up a bargain & I work in a grocery store...as much as I try not to buy food sometimes, well, I wind up bringing home more food anyway.
Looking forward to seeing how creative you get!!

We've been stripping the fridge, freezer and pantry a lot lately. DH got cut down to 4 days a week for the summer, probably through the end of September. So, one trip for groceries a month, by the end of the month, everything is pretty empty!

Never here also...I am a bargain shopper also when it comes to food... I grew up without enough food and my family here now has what they need plus more.
I also can't wait to see how creative you will get...

Never truly stripped shelves, mainly because I lack the creativity necessary to do so, lol. My mom could do better than I, but she grew up with 11 siblings (and her for 12 kids total) and was low middle class, so they kinda had too.

Oh, don't forget to "fill" the freezer with crumpled newspaper or something to keep it working at peak efficiency while your emptying it :)

Good advice about the "empty" freezer needing something to keep it working right!

We did a Cook From Your Cupboards challenge on another board last Fall, so that was the last time I cleared everything out. I was amazed by how creative we could be and just how much room is really in our freezer, fridge and pantry.

Last night I pulled out 2 stuffed peppers and 2 small containers of spaghetti meat sauce I had frozen.

When I clean out every few months if I have bought something to try and we didn't care for it I will give it to a friend that is going to the food pantry. I pick up some snack things like snack bars, ect.. for DGS to try if he will not eat them they are giving to this same friend. I clean out every 3 months so nothing is very old.
