First ice cream of the summer

I put an ice cream into my Cuisinart ice cream freezer today, so far not too thrilled.

I haven't made ice cream in forever.....sure could use some today 98 here.

I have made one batch, right before the 4th. I used my mom's old fashioned recipe, with lots of milk, eggs, sugar and cream. MMmm. I used my electric ice cream maker instead of the churn she used to use with rock salt and ice. But that was sure fun when I was a kid! We made chocoalte, vanilla and cookies and cream. It's almost gone already, so I'm thinking another batch is in order for this coming weekend!

I've been staying in as much as I can, it'sjust to hot to have a (as of today) 8 week old baby outside.

Since I was a kid I have been called strange, crazy and stupid because I do not like home made ice cream or even soft serve....I don't know what it is but the first time I tasted it I thought it was gross......well I don't know what I would have said back in the late 40s maybe Yuck.....lol

The other day the camp manager had home made ice cream for the ones that are in the camp at the time.... and again was made fun of.....

I love ice cream don't get me wrong but it has to be certain kinds .......

I prefer soft serve or homemade because of how quickly it melts on my tongue. I have EXTREMELY sensitive teeth and can't chew things that are very hot or very cold (think fresh pizza and hard ice cream). Its gotten better with regular use of Sensodyne tooth paste, but it still hurts.

Trying to avoid the fake teeth, hehe. I've actually been this sensitive since childhood. One of the first times I can remember having issues with it was at a birthday party when I was very young, like somewhere in the 6-8 years old range. So its been a life long problem :(

My sensitivity started after I got braces off, I had the kind that were a tight metal band around the tooth.
