Hasselback potatoes - can you make ahead?

Im loving the recipes I'm finding for hasselback potatoes (potatoes sliced—not through—and then baked) but am wondering if I can make them ahead of time. I'm having a birthday dinner and those suckers take an hour to bake.

Any suggestions?

Hasselback Potatoes are the Swedish version of baked potatoes. These baked potato fans were popularized as the namesake dish of the restaurant at the Hasselbacken Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden. This baked potato is not your average baked potato! Hasselback Potatoes looks like a very fancy side dish, but is actually very easy to do. As it bakes, the slices fan out slightly for a show-stopping presentation. This is as comfortable at a family dinner as it would be at a dinner party. Definitely a unique and delicious way to serve potatoes.

Hmmm, I was going to say make one ahead of time and see how it turns out.  I think I know what you are talking about.
Do you add any spices, herbs or butter to them?  I'll have to look them up.  Maybe you could share the recipe or something?
