In sorting through the family heirlooms that came from my mother's house after she passed away, I ran across a huge collection of tea towels and large pastry cloths.

Here's what made me think of it:

Interesting bread recipe, and it rises in a pastry cloth!

I seem to remember my mom using one when I was younger, but not for many years. She had a huge bread board though, I wsh I had it! She also had a slab of marbel that she said my dad's great unle would use for making candy. Not sure where that went either.

My mom bought me a round plastic thing, like the size of a large pizza, that had 2 cloth covers, made from white sheet-like cloth. She had ordered it from QVC, her favorite gift source in the later years, I didn't see the demo, so I don't really know if they were meant to be washed or not...I washed mine. I don't know what became of that stuff, I think we may have tossed it...
