I was excited when our temps went down, I could really get to cooking, but now they are way up there again, it's currently 92.

Absolutely!! Here's the link where I got it ...

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/grandmas-egg-custard-pie/detail.aspx

Enjoy!! Just a note..the bigger the pie plate you have the better, mine bubbled over big time the first time I made it and made a MESS of the cookie sheet I had the pie plate on. The next time I used a bigger pie plate and covered the cookie sheet with foil.

I have good memories based in food. With my mom, my family, etc. Most of the times we spent together were because of food. I remember making homemade ice cream with my parents and sister, home made root beer using an old bottle cappe rand everything. We'd go to the west side of Oregon to pick strawberries, tomatoes, apples etc. Then spend two days in my mom's kitchen making apple sauce, or canning tomatoes, making jam. I really wish my girls could have been able to be a part of that. I'm hoping when they are a little older, we can make our own memories and traditions in food somehow.

Now I'm loving that my older DD remembers things the same way. What she ate that time she went here or there, or the time she was at her aunts. And my younger DD is just happy when there is food involved!! LOL

Chrstina I was scared of crust also!! I always bought mine, but last fall I wanted to make an apple pie, and didn't want to go to the store for crust, so I took a chance on my own. It was so easy! I make my own all the time now. I'll post the super easy recipe in a bit!!

94 again today, probably about the same tomorrow, and then cooling into the 70's Sunday!! YAY!! I'l lbebaking uap storm...lol.

I always buy my pie crust. Im afraid of it, lol. Add that to the listof things that I fear baking! 90s right now would be horrible. I normally feel like baking this time of year too, but we have had only 1 day of sun in the last 7. It makes me want to sleep instead of baking....Good job on the pies.
