My turkey's in the tub

I picked up my turkey from the grocery store on Monday night and he's still frozen solid today. DH just brought him to the tub where he'll start his annual cold water bath. Evidently we procrastinate every year because this is becoming a ritual for us!

Ross left yesterday. I will be going down there after the first of the year, hope to make an extended trip of it and get in some iVillage schmoozing as well!

Goodness - at least it's not just me then. Four days just isn't enough, no matter what Martha Stewart told me. ;)

I'm glad your son was able to come. It's so nice to have relatives around at holiday time.

I remember about your fridge freezing, what a bummer!

I nearly got frostbite last year, thawing my bird in the kitchen sink. I made

the mistake of trying to thaw it in the spare fridge out in the garage. And

things freeze solid in there -- milk, mayonaise, and turkeys. This year I

cleared off a shelf in the main fridge and thawed it there, for FIVE days.

I could not believe it when my 18 pound bird still had ice around the wings

and giblets. It was just a little ice though, this time.
