Add a bit of vanilla for taste. Dice strawberries really small or half blueberries. If you want a sweet treat, add in milk choco chips. Or semisweet! Add them when it is steaming hot and stir. Oh my its good.
We like diced apples with cinnamon, nuts (pecans or walnuts), vanilla & a sprinkle of brown sugar. Levi likes to put all sorts of things in his...fruit, chocolate chips, nuts, whatever strikes his fancy at the time. I love oatmeal, I don't know why I not eat it more often....
Oh, the choco chips sounds relly good...and acutally chocolate doesn't have that many carbs and I wouldn't need many. Blueberries are so good for you, I have some in my freezer and I think I'll try those tomorrow!! Vanilla is a good idea too, no extra carbs. Cinnamon helps regulate blood sugar, so that and vanilla would be good additions ith the splenda.
LOL, yes I meant whole grain!!! I have whole wheat on the brain, I'm trying to switch over as much as I can, but I just can't get to liking whole wheat pasta.
I'm going to buy the splenda version of brown sugar next shopping trip. I am liking the splenda, but haven't tried to cook with it yet. I've found that dried fruit adds too many carbs for me, but I don't need much of the splenda, it seems a lot sweeter to me than sugar.
Aww. Im sad you dont like whole wheat pasta. What is it about the pasta? If you get a day to do it, maybe try making your own? Fresh is usually better.
As bad as it is to do this, when I cook my whole wheat pasta, I add a pinch of salt to the water. I also cook it for almost twice as long as regular pasta. That seems to really help the taste and texture for me. DH and DS don't seem to notice if its whole wheat or not, lol.
