I love plain oatmeal, not any qiuck cook, has to be the 5 min one or to me it's
I'm going to have to try the peanut butter and chocolate chips....sometimes I wanta sweet treat and these sound like they would fit the bill.
ODD is preg and loves peanut butter so this would be a great one for her to try.
YDD loves peanut butter cookies and who woldn't like chocolate chips....I know DGS will think this is great, and who could ask for a better bedtime snack.
I keep my peanut butter at the office.
Baked Oatmeal Bars
1 egg, lightly beaten1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats1/2 cup sugar1/2 cup milk1/4 cup vegetable oil1/4 cup chopped nuts1/4 cup raisins1 teaspoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes. Cut into squares.
This morning, I put 1/2 cup of raw oats (whole, old fashiobned) in a dish, and added a little brown sugar, a couple of tbsp of non-fat dry milk powder, and a handful of raisins.
I have to admit that Im a fan of the instant stuff...........yea I know all about texture and all that but lets admit that instant is conveniant and much better than a bowl coco puffs.Im sorta craving anything with carbs right now.....been on a cutting cycle for a while and Im dreaming about baked potatos and biryani rice from trader joes
