So while in the store I was brave and confident. I thought, I can use orzo instead of rice in a dish that calls for rice. Then once I got home, I lost motivation, or got lazy or something. So I was wondering if I can use orzo in place of rice in a dish. And if so, is there anything that can enhance its flavor? Or do you have an easy orzo recipe?

btw. I want to find use this as a sub bc my oldest cant have rice. Thank ya!

I have not played with orzo, but plan to venture into it soon.

Funny you'd mention this because I was in the pasta/rice aisle this week, looking at products.

Thanks. I will give it a shot. I need more parm cheese though.
I was thinking of serving it under something like orange chicken instead of the rice that usually goes with it. I wonder if that would work?

Funny, I was wondering that myself since today's recipe is a Polynesian pork loin and I plan to cook rice with that.

Oh! I bet tossing the orzo in pesto would be great! I have never made a pesto myself though. It must be as simple as a chimichurri though. Oh, that might taste good too!

Levi got a recipe from the food network a few years ago for grilled stuffed tomatoes that the Neeleys did. It was delicious with goat cheese, basil & orzo. I think that is the only thing I've ever used orzo in.

I often wonder who is writing the recipes that the Neely's do on the show...it is certainly NOT what they serve at the restaurants!

We did wind up eating there last week & it was really good -- I was worried after reading some of the online reviews, but everything was delicious! We also ate at The Pig on Beale Street, really good BBQ, but the sides, not so much...
