What are you doing with your leftovers? (Let's share ideas!)

I was browsing the web today and ran across Jamie Oliver's site with leftover recipes. His leek and turkey pie looked good, but I don't have all the ingredients. I think I'm going to do a turkey pot pie instead.

Yesterday we had leftover ham that I made into ham, potato & green bean soup using this recipe.

And, of course, iVillage has some great ideas too...

I think I'm going to make the kids some mac & cheese with ham for a quick lunch ~ http://www.ivillage.com/super-cheesy-stove-top-macaroni-and-cheese-ham-0/3-r-60967

How about you? What are your plans for all the leftovers?

we are similar LOL

hubby said the deer processor told him that there were very few on this seasons kill. for some reason they were not getting them...huh but hubby was lucky and got 2 because on our farm he plants deer plots. we have tons of deer on our game cameras (along with more and more coyotes also, ugh)

nothing special on the prep. hubby has a marinate he loves and we put it in that overnight and pan fry. it is delish and easy. the tenderloin sure doesn't go far and then most we do ground into burger for meatloaf and that sort of thing.

hubby got 2 deer, one big one small this year but meat is in the freezer.

so happy there lol

I also try not to 'do leftovers'
I am making less. I am making one meal.

but when cooking a meal I make double batches for the freezer. time saver.
and yes it goes in the freeszer for later.

not into the body for weight gain :) (oh WW person here lol)

I always make pot pies, and then I freeze them. We eat them once or twice a month throughout the year, that way we don't get sick of turkey leftovers! This year I also made a sheppard's pie out of the leftovers, but it didn't actually go over very well so I probably won't make it again.
I'm cooking one meal from every nation on Earth: travelbystove.blogspot.com.

We made a POINT of having a menu that eliminated leftovers; we had bacon wrapped deer steaks, tossed green salad, carrot souffle, mac & cheese, and rolls.

We will eat them as meals and some sandwiches ..
Roast Beef here
We all love roast beef sandwiches due to we seldom
have roast in the house...
Next weekend we will have Ham so then the sandwiches and potato will be used for suppers..
Mac and Cheese and Ham sounds "great" thanks for the link..
Have a Happy New Year!

Oh goodness, that really is a lot of potatoes! Potato soup is my go-to when I have potatoes I need to use. They seem to go with any other veggie I have on hand, so I do potato/broccoli/cheese soup, potato & creamy asparagus soup, potato/bacon/cheese, potato & leek...you name it.

Here are some more ideas...

Country Potato Salad

Boulangerie Potatoes

Or maybe do chips as a snack?

Or something completely different...

Caramelized Pear Potato Cake

A cake made with potatoes may sound odd, but the mashed Idaho variety has a surprisingly neutral flavor and creates a super-moist crumb, reminiscent of milk cake, which makes it a perfect match with fruit and caramel. For a lighter and fluffier cake, use a ricer to mash the potatoes.
