Hi all...

I have a crock pot that I usually use, but we really love cabbage and I can't fit as much as I'd like in the crock. Would you cook it separate or would you just boil everything in a big stock pot?

In my restaurants I had to cook corned beef and cabbage for about 50-75 people EVERY Tuesday.  I put my briskets in a big pot with water, lots of liquid crab boil and pickling spice, onion, garlic...raid the spice rack.  It braised all day.  I'd cut my cabbage and make a separate pot, seasoned much like the brisket, and cook it for an hour or so until it was tender but not limp.  It was always a sellout!  I don't like my slow cooker sometimes, and this dish is likely one that fits that "sometime."
