Down South, Memorial Day weekend is the official opening day of the pool, and the first annual outing in the boat.

No real plans, besides working 4am to 11am. And trying to find a sitter for DS, since his daycare is closed on Memorial Day.

That is when it is cool to find a friend with a child the same age; I was a single parent of 2, and met a single mom of 3 who also worked weird hours.

We have Grandpa (DH's dad) and my mom as backups, as well as my brother and his wife (if their schedules allow, both are going to college and have 3 kids themselves). So its just seeing who can or wants to, or we can go to Great Grandparents and Grand Aunts as well :) DH has a large family, a good portion of it local. Did have a friend who had a little girl just 5.5 months older than Quinn, but she moved to Washington with her mother just earlier this month. Don't have a lot of other friends in real life, unfortunately. Kinda trying to work on that, but not really hard, as I'm an introverted personality, so I don't have much need as others might for friends. But I would like some adult conversation outside of my husband and mother and work occasionally.

You are lucky to have extended family around like that!

I understand trying to find someone to watch the kiddo's. I only have my sister for the most part. My niece moved a couple months ago, and then there is my niece-in-law, but she is pretty busy herself. 99% of the time it's my sister, and I feel bad if I have to ask her to babysit a lot, I don't pay her, can't afford to. We have a play group, but those moms are much more busy than I am!

No plans for Memorial Day here, no money to go anywhere, but we wouldn't on a long weekend anyway, too many prople, crazy ones, out there! We stay close to home. Depending on the weather, we might work in the yard this weekend.

We usually go to the morning parade then do our exercise, walking. Then we have a family picnic and BBQ basic foods.
