Your worst kitchen accident?

In honor of the missing tip of my finger... :smileysad: What's your worst kitchen accident?

I got a new mandoline slicer from Target last weekend and finally got to use it today to make amazing potato chips. The grippy thing wasn't quite working well though so I was going without it. Let's just say there's a reason it comes with one!

So....if you see a lot of typos from me over the next few weeks, you know why! :smileyfrustrated:

Any other kitchen faux pas to make me feel better?

Well, just today I burned my son's grilled cheese to beyond edible. I was "cheating" and doing it in the toaster oven. Only need to toast it to dark on one side, lol. It doesn't actually get that dark, cause of the butter, but hey, it works and is less work that digging out a pan :)

I've had several, or sure. But the worst was probably when the oven element burnt out in the middle of cooking a turkey. Luckily it wans't a holiday. But after the requird time, I pulled the turkey out of the oven and realized that it was not even warm. I wasted a whole turkey! Back then, I had no idea how to rescue it.
