Metal fragments strike again! This time, fresh bagels are being pulled from store shelves in Alabama, Georgia, Louisana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Bimbo Bakeries, which manufactures baked goods for Thomas', Sara Lee, Publix and Weight Watchers, recently initiated a voluntary recall due to a possible contamination from a faulty manufacturing part.

OH NO!  I'm once again pleased to be a proponent of whole foods, although this is just as scary, since I'm a salad addict:

Geez, it seems that nothing is safe anymore :(  I wonder if the food you get at the farmer's marker is any safer?  It hasn't been processed, but who knows what safety precautions the farmers are employing? It's a good incentive to diet, but there has to be something you can eat!

What I like about the farmer's market or farm stands is that you can ask the FARMER.  I'm not a true believer in the the ORGANIC EVERYTHING deal, but I AM a true believer in LOCAL.  And the produce?  WASH WASH WASH!!!
