Smileycons!  How is your day today?  Wait!! what day is it anyways? Wednesday July 30th. How many besides me can't keep track of what friggin' day it is?
Today looks to be a good, sunny day today.  How many of you out there can't believe what age you have gotten to?
I had plans to visit my friends in West Africa, but unless the ebola outbreak dies down, I don't think I will go.I'm not going to tempt fate.  Since the sun is out, there is no reason why I can not get my butt outside to work in the garden now is there?
How many have gardens going?  And how are your gardens doing?  Anyone care to chat about their gardens, pets, food, BBQ or anything else?
Time for ice tea.....bye bye Smileycons!

Things are good here in SoCal. A little hot and humid for my likes, but what can you do? The garden is loving the heat. Green beans, cucumbers and zucchini are doing well. Tomatoes are doing okay...producing enough for dh and me to have some Caprese a couple of times a week, plus some tomatoes on a sandwich or in a salad. Bell peppers and pimentos set a lot of fruit but are taking forever to ripen. Eggplant is just starting to set fruit, by the time they're ready to pick maybe it will have cooled off enough to turn on the oven and bake some eggplant parmesan!

I can't believe it's the last day of the month! Saying goodbye (for the day) to my kiddo's dancing school teacher, I was ready to say, "See you Thursday!" and realized, "Gee, today is Thursday, see you next week!"  I'm so in the can't keep track boat! (And when I have two in school come September, holy cow, it's going to be chaotic! LOL)

Yeah, I think I'd bypass WA for now. I wouldn't want to tempt fate either. Ebola is scary business.

I have some gardens going, but honestly the yard took a back seat this summer. I do have a hanging tumbling tomato plant but the leaves are all yellow and I can't figure out why. :( It's still bearing tomatoes and I don't see any diseased points or any bugs. I'm going to get some soil from Lowe's and see if maybe it's just the nutrients in the soil that it came with that is causing the issue. It gets PLENTY of sun so not sure what's what. (Though my husband wants to tell me it's because I'm not watering it, but every time I go out to water it, it's wet.) Any thoughts?

Garden not doing so well this year altho I did get a bumper crop of green beans.  haha  I may get some beets.  But they are growing slowly.  I think I have to get compost or something to add to my garden.  Oh yes.  I was able to put some broccoli in the freezer.  Not much, but some.  Now to go out and start picking berries.....Smileycons!
