I compost my kitchen garbage. And then I use the compost on my plants. Every year some kind of melon vine "volunteers" in my garden. Usually too late to yield anything. But this year I got to pick a fully ripe cantaloupe. I was a little disappointed that it was not as sweet as I had expected.

I bring in my herbs, most will thrive for 3-4 years if you bring them in for the winter.

I have a space issue for indoor plants, so I'm sort of limited to the herbs I can "disguise" as centerpieces on my table.

I'm still shocked that they let you go from your job. That has to create a stress headache!
