I've never used one but they seem to be all the rage and quite safe these days.

I have an electric one. Love it. By Cuisinart. Done ribs, chicken drumetts, cheesecake, and about every other week, I do my mac n cheese in it. 7 minutes from raw pasta to awesome mac n cheese...cant beat that, lol!

(Btw..I always feel guilty about posting on this board. So far from chef here, lol)

Oh, you said you've seen recipes for pressure cookers? Point me in that direction if you dont mind.

Christina, I'd love any of the recipes you are using! I use mine for stock all the time!! I have a shelf in the freezer just full of bags of bones & veggie trimmings (mostly just onions, carrots & celery). Homemade soup with real stock is the best! I have done corned beef, spareribs & sauerkraut & pot roast. I've never thought to do mac & cheese in it, although I do it in my crock pot often. And cheesecake? Really?? That intrigues me! Karen, you totally should get one!! I know my pressure cooker horizons would expand if you did!
