Time for some ice tea

Well, it is now in the afternoon, the sun is shining brightly but it is cold outside at about 42 degrees F. Which is about as warm as it will get today. But that is ok.  Snow is slowly melting, but not fast enough for me.  I need to get my kitchen table cleaned off and start some seeds today.  But first I need some "get up and go" or something as I am very tired today.    Or maybe it is depression.

Well, I'll be back later, hopefully have time to add a few recipes here and there.
How is your day going.  How is your weekend going?  did you do anything fun?

I love iced tea. I tend to only keep it on hand in the summer. Not sure why that is. But, I'll sit down and have a glass with you here, even though it's very cold where you are.

I spent my weekend at the ballpark: baseball and softball. I adore the sport, which is good since both my kids play, and they play a lot.

I also got the house cleaned, the grocery run done, and the lawn mowed. Today, back to work. Boo.

What seeds are you going to start?  I used to make 2 gallons of iced tea a DAY.  I gave it up for ice water about 2 years ago.  My daughter nearly fainted.  She was pretty sure that I ran straight iced tea in my veins.  I don't sweeten my tea.  I love it straight, sometimes I want a lemon or some crushed basil leaves in it.

My weekend was about reclaiming my back yard.  With all the rain, it had turned into a boggy mess with mid-calf high weeds.  UG!

Tomatoes and peppers first, followed by the cole crops.  Cumumbers, squashes, just about everything but carrots  and beets really get started ahead of time. Oh and some lettuces I start ahead of time.

Karen is that how much ice tea you drank a day?  By yourself?  Of course it is a lot hotter there where you are than it is here.  I probably drink almost 2 quarts a day when it is hot here.  A little less during the winter time as when it is cold, i drink lots and lots of hot tea.  Can't tell you how many, but some days an awful lot.  During the summer I make something that is so yummy on hot days, called Hazelnut Coffee creamers.  It is a cold icy hazelnut coffee type drink that I so adore.  It almost time for me to mix up a batch of that. hehehehe.
After working in my garden/yard all day when the sun is still shining sitting in my swinging hammock with one of those is so delightful.  with a good book to read and my dogs sitting at my feet.  Devine.
This year I will be home all summer, so I'll make sure to clean my pool out and get it filled so I will have that to play in as well.  I just love it.
