Do you Judge other people by what they eat?

I saw this interesting article from iVillage Health about how eating organic can turn people into jerks, " New research suggests that organic food turns people into judgmental jerks. When we’re able to pat ourselves on the back for morally upstanding behavior, such as eating virtuously, it tends to make us self-righteous, according to a study in the journal of Social Psychological and Personality Science.

Hmmm, the only reason I even pay attention to what other people eat is to get ideas for dinner. What about you, do you think you judge people more harshly by what they eat?

I definitely am not an organic or perfect eater, but working in a grocery store I find myself looking in people's shopping carts & yes, passing judgement. I have a friend with a diabetic husband & two boys who eat either fast food or convenience junk (ramen & frozen pizza) 90% of the time. I don't know that her kids drink anything that is not soda or a Kool-aid type drink. They show up a church where there is fresh homemade food with their McDonald's burgers, fries & nuggets...it makes me sad for the whole family. Even my boys have commented. They have spent the night several times & have never eaten an actual cooked meal...oh, Marty, age 6, fixed ramen for Caleb last time he spent the night.

My brother's boys have a love for  fast food, my brother tries to get them to eat good, but they've got into the habit of not being home to sit down for a decent meal.

I blame their mother, who had custody of them until my bother proved he was the better parent, but not before her boyfriend physically and mentally abused them.  :smileysad:
