Really? 20 servings of corned beef & cabbage? Are they feeding leprechauns? It would never stretch that far in our house!! We love corned beef & cabbage!! I have a small corned beef in my freezer, I bought carrots today, but forgot cabbage!! I think I'll cook it up this weekend. I am having a craving that I can't wait 3 weeks to satisfy!! I've never made shepherd's pie, but my mom did when I was a kid. She used leftover roast or lamb, rather than ground. I was pricing ground lamb today & even in the markdown bin it was ridiculously expensive!! I bought a groupon for a butcher shop we used to go to all the time when I was a kid -- I remember we always bought our bologna there. I am hoping they will have lamb shanks when I go there to spend my $40! Yum!!

No, growing up we never had mint jelly with lamb. My mom hated any kind of sweet & savory combo, as well as mint. DH had it once in England & loved it , but we always forgot to get jelly for the lamb. Years ago, when I was pregnant with Lije, I went to a seafood buffet at one of the casinos, they were lamb chops that were so good I bypassed the seafood & filled up on them. They had some sort of sweetness & every since then I have added a touch of brown sugar to my lamb, along with the garlic I grew up with & we have several rosemary plants, so I add that, too.
