I'm not, I used to love fall, not so much these days.

Do you like Fall or does it just remind you that Winter is that much closeer?

What do you love and/or hate aboit Fall?

I love fall because of the weather, the change in colors, and the food, but I always am sad to see summer end. We always look forward to Harvest Fest and Thanksgiving at our house in the fall. I don't love winter and it's brutal cold, but I guess you just get used to it (being that I grew up in upstate NY my entire life). Can't change it, right?

I've lived in Missouri most of my life, but I did live in Iowa for 2 years, both states have brutal winters.

I used to love cold temperatures, but as I get older, not so much.

What do you have planned for the Harvest Fest, Jeannie?

DD can't wait for the snow to arrive.  I think she is forgetting how harsh it can be waiting for the bus during a windy snow storm.  We have a very long driveway, lol!

Harvest Fest is a family party we have to celebrate my parents' anniversary each year (59 years this year, I think).  DH will be steaming clams outside on our fire pit for one of the appies.  My mom's father handmade this huge brass pot used for steaming clams that was handed down to us (I believe he was a welder).  Now it is tradition to haul this huge thing out each year.  I am trying to come up with other fall-like appetizers for those who don't eat clams.  I usually do some sort of apple and fruit dip dish.  I may try a pear and gorgonzola mix in a phyllo cup.  Still working on ideas.  For dinner we will have Tuscan Soup and a Corn-Potato Chowder.  We are ordering a big deli plate from BJ's for sammies and I'll make a nice salad with carmelized walnuts and sliced honey-crisp apples (our new favorite variety).  My SIL and niece will be bringing dessert but I usually try to come up with something to add variety.  Most likely it will be something I can make in advance and freeze.  The party is both inside and outside, rain or shine.  Last year we had a pig roast and DH set up a huge haunted trail in our back fields.  He spent so much time and money on it.  We waited till dark and sent the kids out there and heard them screaming their heads off.  Funny thing was that they weren't scared of all DH's decorations, but of my brother and nephew who were hiding in the fields and jumping out at them. hahaahaha!

Don't you just love fall cooking?  :  )

That is so funny, that would make me scream too, poor kids!  :smileyhappy:

I love fall cooking, but it sounds like you have the perfect set up with the fire pit and your deck, Jeannie?

Strawberry Ghosts.jpg would be a nice nibble.  :smileyhappy:

The deck is closed off since the pool is closed, but we have a beautiful patio to use as well. The garage is also set up with tables and chairs. It can get a bit crazy. : )

Those are cute! Are you on Pinterest? I have a recipe on there where you take a strawberry and coat it with marshmallow fluff and then roast on a stick over a fire. YUM!
