   We sure do.

2. Have you ever had to give anything up because of money being tight? Frown
Yes, features to my cable TV.

3. What do you go for first when you're at a holiday dinner? Tongue Out
Corn pudding or mashed potates.    Maybe the rolls.

4. When do you put out your holiday decorations? Kiss
Earlier every year.   I tend to find a warm weekend in November for the outdoor stuff, but I don't turn them on.   This year they went up November 10th.   I put up my indoor stuff Sunday, 11/18.   I will start turning on the outdoor stuff this week.

5. Are you making anything new this year?   Surprised
   Nope.

Do you ever have leftover mashed potatoes, Tracy?

What sort of outdoor lights do you have?  In a community where I used to live, one house had Santa in his sleigh landing on his roof.  I loved that one.  Surprised

Leftover mashed potatoes have never been my thing.  When it's just me and the kids I tend to cook just enough so  there are no leftovers.

I just have a strand of alternating red/green lights across my gutter line.   And I have red lights in the windows.   Nothing fancy.

1. Do you have a Thanksgiving/holiday menu that never changes? Yes. The only thing that changes is the green veggie -- it alternates between some type of fall salad or fresh green beans. 2. Have you ever had to give anything up because of money being tight? Yes, plenty. When DH lost his job (and I was a stay-at-home mom who had given up her career), we gave up plenty. We lived off our savings for 3 months. It is amazing what you can do without! One year DH had a $1,000 repair on his truck and we had to skip Harvest Fest. : ( 3. What do you go for first when you're at a holiday dinner? The main dish! 4. When do you put out your holiday decorations? The Christmas tree and decorations go up the day after Thanksgiving, but the outside lights go up before Thanksgiving so that the house looks festive when people arrive (just lights on the trees). We have a huge yard and it just looks so pretty with all those lights. 5. Are you making anything new this year? I am doing a new appie: phyllo cups with brie and whole cranberry sauce (yum!). I am also doing a crispy prosciutto with french green bean dish.

I agree, the lights on the trees is awesome to see.  DH's uncle used to do that, it  set the mood for the holidays!  Smile

The Phyllo cups with brie and whole cranberry sauce sounds yummy.  (drool) Tongue Out

Did everyone  like the meal, Jeannie?  Smile

We sometimes make potato pancakes with our leftover mashed potatoes.

The meal was Delish and the new recipes were awesome, but the real star was a separate turkey breast DH did on a rotisserie on the grill. It was so tender and moist. YUM!
