Who are you?

Where are you?

Do you start planning your garden now, or do you have one?

JaieLyn in Vegas. I haven't had a garden, we are still working on the backyard. I am definitely going to do a planter of herbs this year out front. DH got 3 big planters about 2 or 3 feet square. I am going to do basil, for sure, but I'm not sure what else...thyme, tarragon, chives, dill?? I have several rosemary bushes out back. I'm going to try to talk DH into giving up another planter...I'd like to do tomatoes, peppers, lettuce. The boys would love it if I did strawberries!

I wish that I had luck growing Rosemary, I think my climate isn't right for it.

When we moved into this house there were rosemary bushes pretty much along the entire back of the house, DH & the boys got rid of several of them, but we still have plenty. They are big & in fact, desperately in need of being trimmed & shaped up. We use the rosemary with chicken, potatoes & lamb, mostly. Sometimes I will toss a sprig into a pot of soup.

The new board set up...mixed feelings. It is convenient to have so many grouped together & hopefully they will all get more visitors this way. I'm hoping each board keeps its own personality that it had established, though. I'm glad they didn't just shut them down! What do you think?

Oh, btw, Levi & I went to Lowe's today & bought stuff for planting. Three types of basil, thyme, parsley & Anaheim chiles. I was kind of disappointed in the looks of their stuff, most looked rather puny. We got the biggest, healthiest looking plants we could find, as well as soil, grass seed, fertilizer, manure & weed killer.

It is better in most ways, but I miss having a seperate area for recipes.

Yeah, I think each board should still have a separate recipe section. We can discuss food shows here. Have you been watching Worst Cooks this season?

I thonk Levi may do his & the Neely's famous (in his mind lol) grilled tomatoes for a family BBQ this weekend. Speaking of which, I got a triple crock pot for Christmas, a 4 qt, with two 1.5 qt crocks. I'd like to use it for the BBQ Sunday. Any suggestions?
