Hi Hope, welcome to the board, I finally get to respond to you.
I'm glad that you have tried it and like it.
My youngest niece makes soap with it, I use that as shampoo, it is supposed to keep your hair it's original color;
keep it from going gray and fights dandruff.
Please tell us if you find any other things it's good for.
Aloe vera is great for a lot of things, I get it from a health food store and the Aloe Vera juice comes in different flavors too. It balances the blood sugar to a normal level too; whether it's high or low.
Hi Brensticker, welcome to the board, it's nice to meet you!
Coconut oil is a Superfood too, inside and outside the body, No doubt that olive oil is great to use for a lot of things too, it will get rid of kidney stones and everything you mentioned as well.
I use Coconut oil as a shampoo and then as a heathy treatment for my blemishes.
If you decide to try it, please tell us how it works for you.
Hi Abby, welcome to Frugal Living, it's great to meet you!
I use oconut oil in my coffee, tea, and for cooking; It is good for us and tastes good too. Some think it takes some time to get used to, but I love it.
I even use it as soap and gum health.
I hope you try it, it is a good fat for our bodies.
Please let us know if you try it.
I actually just started cooking with it about a week or so ago and so far I really like it! I put a little in a pan before I brown up some chicken I use on my salads. I don't think it has an odd flavor at all. I've also been reading about the benefits it has on the outside of your body too- especially skin and hair. I have not gone that far yet, but it is interesting for sure!
I have wondered about that aloe vera and whether or not it could help dry skin from the inside out. I know you can get aloe vera gel drinks but they are rather pricey.
I have never tried it but have heard it is good for you. I tend to stick with olive oil since it is considered a super food. In fact I once had a surgeon tell me while there is no scientific proof yet, evidence supports rubbing olive oil on your joints daily will improve joint function.
I think it would be interesting to use coconut oil in cooking, has anyone tried it before? I wonder what it does to the taste of the food, especially when it's added directly to tea or as a butter substitute. I think I need to scope some out at our natural foods store.
