Are you making anything head for the holidays?

I know my family starts making desserts and getting nuts for the recipes.  We make cheeseballs and candy too.

When you are making things for a holiday, do you sample what you make?  Tongue Out

I usually stock up on basic baking ingredients so we are ready when the baking fever strikes.  DH makes all the traditional Italian cookies that his mom used to make.  I only bake Jam Thumbprints each year.  We really don't eat a lot of cookies any longer.  And yes, I do sample.  :  )

What flavor Jam Thumbprints are your favorite, Jeannie?  Do you make hot cocoa or another drink for when you make cookies?  Tongue Out

I traditionally bake Barefoot Contessa's Jam Thumbprint recipe which are rolled in coconut (vs nuts). I use a triple berry jam that Wegman's makes. This year I may try a new recipe for Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints that I found on Pinterest. We usually just serve the cookies with milk (or coffee if in the a.m.).
