Has anyone made banana ice cream, like this: http://blog.foodnetwork.com/healthyeats/2011/08/19/one-ingredient-banana-ice-cream/

I've made it and ate/served it right away, but I'm curious about refreezing as they suggest (as it can be time consuming/messy, so making in bulk would be awesome!). Has anyone done that? Would it melt like real ice cream if I left it out after refreezing? Not sure if a hardened version would be as good.

Wow that looks really good. I don't know about freezing it but sure can't wait to give it a try.

Not sure how it woudl *taste* like, but multiple episodes of freeze/thaw will most likely turn the banana puree black ...

Yeah I was wondering about that myself. Maybe make a big batch but store it in single serve containers or small serve containers? That way you're not freezing and refreezing.

I've made it and had one portion left over to (re)freeze. It was very hard when I removed it from the freezer, but  it thawed pretty fast especially around the edges (actually started getting watery at the edges). As I remember the texture was similar to the freshly made stuff. It has so much air in it after being processed/blended that it will thaw faster than regular ice cream. Mine didn't turn black.
